Swim so sweet

"Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air"  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

While at the pool I've noticed a thing or two about swimsuits for children. Girls have all the fun.

While the boys have, well swim trunks. Being a stepmom of a boy, I sit in wonder and awe over the

itsy bitsy bikinis. I "oooh" and "aaah" over each one and squeal in delight when I see a chubby little

toddler leg peeking out from under a monogrammed seersucker 2 piece. I've noticed a few trends this

year among the little ones. They all seem to love polka dots, mixed patterns, stripes and my personal

favorite the tutu one piece! I must say I fully support these trends. I may have to go swimsuit

shopping to keep up. Here are a few of our pools top picks for swimwear in Northern Virginia

(NOVA).

1.) A colorful polka dot and rainbow one piece

2.) Two pale pink ballerina inspired tutu bathing suits. Am I too old to pull off this look :p

  1. I have always wanted a little girl so that i could dress them up in things exactly like that! the swimsuits are adorable, i'd totally go with the tutu as well. :P

  2. I have 2 girls and a boy...there is SO much more to choose from for girls! However, once they get out of the little girl sizes, the clothes get very, uhm...'hoochiefied' for lack of a better term. It's exhausting finding age appropriate clothes for my tweens now! If they would only let me dress them in seersucker and matching dresses :-)
